The images found throughout the spreads are predominately from Cold War and Vietnam era United States. The spreads borrow from the aesthetics of gritty scanned documents. This includes a typeface intended to mimic the loss of the fidelity that comes with the process of documentation. These documents are living breathing examples of the information war Mcluhan warns of in his writing. Images reference the “hot wars” of yesteryear and the maps indicate the locations deemed suitable for the hell they bring.
